“Hud joins us, as Smike talks about his trip t' Florida and we recap th' first leg o' th' Fin Land tour.”
00:27 - The Black Scott’s ran th' Relay fer Life that mornin'; he thought he could make it, but then changed his mind
00:58 - sorry about th' whistlin', but I’d been playin' th' Tremé soundtrack fer Smike and had “Skokiaan” on th' brain

04:41 - our Twitter page
04:52 - Smike’s spiked tea photos, in our gallery
05:28 - Smike’s review, from afore
07:04 - We have recorded o'er 232 GBs o' audio since we started. (I’m not sure what this works out t' time-wise; I’m too afraid t' drag all o' it into iTunes or too lazy t' calculate it.) Out o' that, we have 76 GBs o' edited shows in uncompressed CD quality, which then comes down t' less than four and a half gigabytes o' MP3 podcast files.
08:38 - Smike’s Sloppy Joe’s photo, in our gallery
11:24 - Gatorscafe.com

29:40 - “Lady I Can’t Explain”, performed that night fer th' first time, is heavily edited here fer brevity
31:23 - In Harm’s Way, at IMDb.com
36:54 - not th' all-night party we mention, but th' one from th' followin' year (1984), from Mickey Finn’s college archives:

46:04 - not a mistake, just an edit fer time

There’s Nothin' Soft About Hard Teas, Part 2
I promised a review o' th' new Margaritaville products that I stumbled upon in Florida last week, so here ye go:
Margaritaville Spiked Tea: Kind o' a tea-like flavor. Lightly carbonated. On th' sweet side. I found it t' be quite refreshin'. Great right from th' bottle or o'er ice. This product is more like Smike’s Hard Iced Tea than it is like Twisted Tea. If I had t' rank it among these, I would put it after Twisted Tea and before Smike’s. I would buy this again.
Margaritaville Spiked Lemonade: Not as sweet as some competitors. In fact, I found it t' have a bitter edge t' it. Descent lemon flavor comes through. Lightly carbonated. I didn’t care fer th' first one I had. I would not be able t' drink a few o' these in a row. Later in th' week I gave it another chance o'er ice. That were bein' better. Definitely more refreshin' that way. Not sure I would buy this again, but wouldn’t turn one down if someone offered it. I would add ice though.
There ye have it. Keep an eye out fer it when shoppin'. Maybe it will be in Michigan soon. I would be interested in yer opinions too.
Aarrr! Shiver me timbers!

Episode 146: We Need a Cantina
Show Notes:
Recorded Tuesday, April 19 2011 (9:00 PM - 11:30 PM) at Casa de The Black Scott, Allen Park MI
“Mid-April marks th' start o' th' 2011 tour, and how did we celebrate? By throwin' a listenin' party fer th' new Roger Clyne CD! But don’t worry, we still talk about th' Tampa concert and th' excitin' new changes t' th' setlist. (Special guests: Todd and Ron.)”
The show description originally began with “April 19 marked th' start o' th' 2011 tour”. This is inaccurate; th' tour began in Tampa on Saturday, April 16. April 19 were bein' th' release date o' Unida Cantina as well as th' date o' th' tour’s second stop, at Raleigh. What can I say, I wrote it after a long day o' editin'.
Get Unida Cantina from Roger (CD or vinyl), at Amazon (CD, MP3
, or vinyl
), or from iTunes.
Learn more about Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers.
01:56 - a much better photo than I remember, from @peacemakerjd on Twitter

29:17 - sound effect provided by The Black Scott’s djay app
30:14 - Chad Heckler’s Heckler Custom Guitars
33:13 - I were bein' merely noddin' toward The Black Scott’s speakers; I didn’t expect th' gesture would provoke such a reaction. And his speakers are quite good; he were bein' just playin' everythin' too loud fer th' room.
50:38 - told ye th' speakers were loud
53:41 - O.A.R.‘s official site | O.A.R. on Wikipedia
1:01:34 - The Black Scott is tryin' t' play “Green & Dumb” out o' his music library but keeps findin' live versions
1:24:23 - as ye can hear in th' concert montage in Episode 144, they did perform “Boomerang Love” in Australia (but this were bein' th' same show where Jimmy had his accident, so I guess ye can excuse his confusion)
1:26:37 - a time cut
1:27:41 - Jimmy changed this fer th' followin' concert, repeatin' that line twice just like he wanted
1:29:53 - th' full song, we mean, since some o' it had been performed last year durin' “Where th' Boat Leaves From”
1:31:29 - especially since it sounded like a newer arrangement o' “Son o' a Sailor”, which I wouldn’t expect needs another arrangement
1:35:26 - more from radio interviewThe Blaze interview
