Episode 108: Concerted Effort

Show Notes:
Recorded Wednesday, August 19 2009 (10:00 PM – 11:00 PM) at Joe’s Prime Time, Brownstown MI
“Mike, Schmoe, and Mickey take a closer look at the recent Pine Knob concert. (Guest appearances by Jacob and Nathan.)

I, Mickey, formally concede, from the outset:
    A) Schmoe is right about “Margaritaville” on You Had to Be There. Frankly, I have no idea now what I was talking about. And, 2) It does sound like I say “1997”. I still don’t see how I could confuse the years; I can only assume it was a case of lazy-mouth.
    And now, the show notes:

05:56 – the forecast for Clarkston on August 13 was sunny with a high of 83°F
08:02 – the concert that year (2003) was like a freaking Carnival Cruise Line show, with native dancers, jugglers, and fire-eaters.
10:57 – another link to my concert photos
18:37 – concert clips are once again from SunLover, over at the Buffett News discussion board, since, as you might have guessed, we were busy that night
20:11 – a commercial for Ford, plus subliminal product placement for Dodge and Toyota

23:30 – I don’t remember now. It could have been “Pirate” or maybe it was “Last Mango”.
24:56 – just ignore this whole part. Mike might be right: maybe I heard an old recording on Radio Margaritaville’s “Buffett Buffet”.
28:43 – “A Pew Research survey released last month showed that 81 percent of respondents between ages 16-29 said they liked The Beatles. Eleven percent said they dislike the band and only 4 percent said they have never heard of them.” Source: CNN
